It’s week 3 of our brand new #TechTalkshow and Jeremy Eames and Steve Griffiths catch us up on the latest tech news, including Tesla's new vehicle, Uber and whether the studio team would use Amazon Dash. We discover that Steve prefers “real” shopping over online unlike Jeremy - is this something to do with age and a lack of extra curricular activities?
First our hosts meet Alexandra K Riemann, creator of My Wanderlust. Having been born into a family with a passion for travel, having plenty of her own experiences where she found she was lacking a travel companion and being inspired by a university lecturer, creating a website to help people find their perfect destination and someone to share it with seemed like a perfect fit for Alexandra. The team discuss the benefits of websites vs. apps and the best way to go about creating your own "Tinder for Travellers" and Jeremy gets a touch of the green monster after listening to Alex's jet-setting life stories.
Next up is our regular unboxing section of The Tile, a bluetooth keyring to help you locate your precious items. find out whether they think it rocks or if it goes back in the box. What's the strangest place you've found your keys?
Sue Nelson meets Paul Andrews for the second week to discuss scaling up businesses especially for tech start ups. Paul thinks tech industries get seduced by the technology and forget about marketing products to real life customers and Sue agrees that getting realistic monetary estimates for a product's worth is important - even if it takes time for people to understand the product, as Paul has experienced himself!
Mark Philip of ADM Computing is our final guest for the day and specialises in keeping relationships between sales and services running smoothly. Steve wants to know what's pushing people towards Microsoft SharePoint and Mark explains that people are finally realising that the old ways don't work as well anymore and we discover that there's quite a big push in people looking to update their business strategies. Steve wonders about the worry of licensing costs and security- who knew that people were still using "Password" as their password? Surely not!
