This week’s TechTalk starts with news about Blackberry phones and Apple’s new HQ in Battersea, which evokes some brief reminiscing for both Jeremy Eames and Steve Griffiths. Steve also admits that he’s addicted to drones and makes sure we all know about the latest foldable model.
Our first guest, David Brown of Adavow, is fighting against advert overload, and Jeremy Eames is well on board being a victim of post-purchase advert attacks! Steve also finds the constant barrage of search engine related advertising annoying and is pleased that AdTech appears to be making strides in combating this aggressive, repetitive marketing. Jeremy is interested to discover that David has a background in psychology and the studio suspect that he’s probably got us all worked out by now!
Next is our live unboxing segment, and this week things get a little bit out of control when a mini drone is let loose in the studio. Find out if our team of boys who like toys think it rocks or goes back in the box.
This week our Tech Savvy segment comes from the Takeaway and Restaurant Innovation Expo 2016 and Anthony Robins of Dinggly – the world’s smartest call for service. Sue Nelson and Brady Last talk about how important they think customer service is for the success of a business and how this new button might stop women from being ignored in restaurants!
Our final guest today is Mike Masey who’s background stems from music production and digital media, but thankfully led him to be a web builder extraordinaire. Steve wants to know how you successfully design a website these days; one which works across all devices and platforms without dropping quality. Now working for Yoyo, Jeremy is keen to find out more about the big name clients that Yoyo have worked with and if there are any development challenges he’s had to overcome – like Breakthrough Funding’s animated homepage. Steve wants to know what developer mistakes get up Mike’s nose – like poorly synced apps and carousels! Grrr, best stay away from fairgrounds, Mike.
